This album just creeps up on you. The sound is leaning towards the funky reggae side of things (thanks to excellent Harry Mudie arrangement and production) but the feel is still raw and chunky with King Tubby behind the boards. Seriously, I've never heard anything else that sounds like this and satisfies my need for funk breaks and raw dub at the same time (see: "Heavy Duty Dub"). Plus the entire record flows together nicely with exceptional instrumentation all the way. I don't know who's playing bass on this session but the shit is out of control. "Caught You Dubbing" is one of those tunes with the sweet horns that make you want to fry eggs on a Sunday morning. "Roman Dub" also has some nice hard drums in it and Tubby dubs the hell out of the bass.
